Health and Nutrition - What Did You Say I Should Eat?

Health and nutrition are current issues in magazines, at school, in the doctor's office and even on Twitter pages and blogs. Today we hear about health and nutrition everywhere.

When did health and nutrition become important?

Health and nutrition became a major concern during World War II, when a committee was formed to examine how food could "influence national defense" (Nestlé, 35). Since then, many ideas have been presented to ensure that people maintain a healthy lifestyle.

In 1941, the Food and Nutrition Board met to make recommendations for a standard daily allowance for each type of nutrient our body needs. The recommended daily allowances (RDA) initially included dietary advice specifically for the armed forces and people living abroad who needed food assistance.

Over time, ADRs have become standards for everyone. The RDAs were reviewed every five to ten years, and in the 1950s information was added on the recommended number of servings for each food group.

In 1997, the Food Reference System (DRI) was introduced. The DRI system is based on RDA and is used to establish a balanced diet for schools, prisons, nursing homes and hospitals.

Controversy along the way:

Of course, given that health and nutrition are so important, there has been (and still is) a lot of controversy.

Some researchers believe that the RDA standards are too low and that they should recommend a higher percentage of dietary intake. Other scientists say that a person's body type should help decide what types of foods should be eaten or avoided.

Many health officials recommend reducing our total fat intake to a small percentage of our daily calories. while others claim that eating a good dose of fat in the diet is really healthy.

Many weight loss programs claim that their diet is healthy for everyone, but some people eat certain foods such as meat or cereals, while others eat better cheeses or foods high in fat. and the protein.

Each one has its own genetic structure. A diet that serves one person can not serve another.

So, who is right? How to know what to eat to be healthy?

Although the RDA provides an excellent guide to a balanced diet, you are the expert when it comes to your body. Let your body tell you what foods are best for you. You know better than anyone how your body reacts to certain foods.

It is a good idea to follow a daily diet, but you should also experiment with different foods and see how your body responds to these foods. For example, if you eat meat, how do you feel about it? Do you feel energetic, lively and balanced? Or do you feel tired or have indigestion?

Below is a basic diagram that can be customized according to your response to different foods such as meat and bread.

Eat 4 to 5 fruits a day. It's a lot to eat, so try to squeeze them. You can combine many fruits to get a good juice to taste. The centrifuges produced today are easy to use, easy to clean and generally require very little preparation for the juice to be made quickly.Consume as many raw vegetables as possible every day. The dark green vegetables contain chlorophyll, which is very beneficial for health. The fiber in vegetables is important for intestinal health and its elimination.

When squeezing vegetables, you can consume more than you could eat with raw vegetables. By squeezing the juice, the body can absorb nutrients much more quickly and easily. Be creative, many combinations can be combined in juicy drinks.

Use healthy oils every day. Sprinkle olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil or pumpkin oil on all raw salads; Or mix it in your juicy vegetables to add flavor.
Your body needs a certain amount of good fats and oils every day. Fats in prepared and pre-packaged foods contain hardened oils that are harmful to health. If possible, try to avoid commercially processed foods.

Some last words of wisdom:

You are the only person who makes sure that your body receives the correct amount of nutrients. They are responsible for the nutrition and health of your body.

Remember, just because your stomach is full and you are not hungry does not mean that you have really nourished your body. Be sure to add the correct amount of the right foods each day to your body. Making juices makes things easier and allows you to quickly get nutrients into your system.

Do you think that your metabolism is slow?

Many people who have difficulty losing weight attribute it to a slow metabolism . After all, it is our metabolism (the engine of your body) that regulates the amount of fuel (calories) the body burns. Although it is important for fat loss, it is also important for your health. If you slow down or lose weight too quickly after a low-calorie diet, it can be difficult to convince your body to lose weight. It can also cause a slow metabolism if it does not keep your muscle tissue in good tonic conditions, which determines the metabolic rate. Other factors can also slow down, eg. Food shortages, poor quality food, such as processed foods and protein deficiency, excess refined sugars and high-fat carbohydrates and chemicals in food. Coma. The good news is that you can repair your metabolism again. However, it requires a combination of appropriate exercises (strength training) to train the muscular system and appropriate metabolic stimulation (this does not mean dieting),...
